The players’ drafting ceremony for 2nd edition of Pakistan Super League will held today while PSL Chairman Najam Sethi and CEO Subhan Ahmed have arrived Dubai to participate in this ceremony.
Famous cricketers from all around the world will be seen in action in the 2nd edition of PSL. For 414 players, there are 5 categories under which there are 28 players in platinum category, 33 players in diamond category, 74 in gold category, 255 in silver category and 24 national and international players in emerging category. In platinum category, there are 9 Pakistani and 19 international players that include Australian Shane Watson, Bangladeshi Shakib al Hasan, England’s Alex Hales, Eoin Morgan, Jason Roy, K Pietersen, S Broad, New Zealand’s B McCullum, Sri Lankans K Sangakkara, L Malinga, M Jayawardene, West Indians A Russell, C Gayle, D Bravo, D Sammy, D Smith, K Pollard, M Samuels and Sunil Narine. The Pakistani players present in this category are Ahmed Shahzad, Misbah ul Haq, M Hafeez, Sarfraz Ahmed, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Wahab Riaz and Younis Khan.
In the poll of 414 players, 10 Zimbabwean players are also present while players from non test playing nations are also present which include 9 players from Afghanistan, 6 from Ireland, 2 from Holland and 1 player each from Canada, Oman, UAE and USA. The players qualified for PSL will be given salary from $100,000 to $250,000 while it is expected that many star players will be present in ceremony that will be held today.
