International Cricket Council has nominated the names of players for the award of Cricketer of the Year 2014 but there is no Pakistani player in this list.
ICC has announced players list in different formats of cricket for the award of year’s best player. According to this list; Mitchell Johnson, Angelo Mathews and David Warner are the nominated players for Test Cricketer of the year. For one day Cricketer of the year award; AB de Villiers, MS Dhoni, Quinton de Cock, Virat Kohli and Dale Steyn are in the list while Gary Ballance, Rangana Herath, Aaron Finch, Alex Hales, Corey Anderson, Jimmy Neesham and Ben Stokes are in the list for T20 cricket.
ICC has been distributing the awards of best players and umpires since 2004 but so far only M Yousaf, Umar Gul and umpire Aleem Dar are the Pakistanis to win the award.
