De Villiers was playing the one day international match at Birmingham Cricket ground on 07 June in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and he had to return to the pavilion after facing the first ball. He gave the catch to Muhammad Hafeez standing on the point position on the ball of Imad Waseem.
