Shahid Afridi and Peshawar Zalmi have resolved their issues and the all rounder has changed his intention to replace PSL franchise team and he will represent Zalmi for next season also. After decisive meeting, Afridi will become the president of Peshawar Zalmi Foundation and there will also be a written agreement between Afridi and Peshawar Zalmi for the first time regarding his salary.
According to details, former national T20 captain Shahid Afridi represented the team of Peshawar Zalmi in the initial PSL. But differences emerged between him and the team owner and he decided to leave the franchise but few elders prevented him to do so. The sources told that the agreement between Afridi and another team have almost been finalized and they were ready to keep him like ‘kings’. But the final meeting between him and the owner of Peshawar Zalmi was held few days ago in which all the issues were solved and now Afridi will be made president of Peshawar Zalmi Foundation and he will handle its matters in KPK province.
Prior to that, there was no agreement of the all rounder with franchise but now a contract will be made with a regular pay. The sources also told that PZ is trying to take services of former Australian leg spinner Shane Warne as mentor and the final decision is expected in next few weeks. It should be cleared that Peshawar Zalmi was defeated by Islamabad United in the 3rd quarter final of PWL1 by 50 runs. In this previous event, Afridi took 10 wickets and scored 87 runs. The next edition of PSL will be played at the start of next year.
