Captain of Pakistan ODI team Azhar Ali says that his team wants to make a direct place in 2019 world cup by performing superbly in Champions Trophy next year.
He said during an interview to ICC website that ICC Champions Trophy is an important event for them and they want to win maximum number of matches. Pakistan team wants to make a direct place in world cup by improving its ranking. He said they have several ODI matches before this tournament and they want to better performance by learning from their mistakes.
Azhar Ali added that Pakistan has won ODI and T20 world cups but Champions Trophy is not in the board’s headquarter. The team wants to decorate this trophy in the cabinet after winning this event. They have several talented players. They can win the tournament if performed well. He is hopeful that Pakistan team will rise as the strongest team or world in the next 12 months and they will win this difficult tournament.
