Bangladesh Television was established in 1964 by the government of Bangladesh (then Government of Pakistan) as a news and current affairs television channel. After its separation from Government of Pakistan, it was renamed as Bangladesh Television. This television has set up channels from which one is broadcasting programs from Dhaka which telecast its various programs to all big cities of the country. It also set up its regional channels like in Chittagong for the transmission of local programs in the evening.

This channel also telecast various programs presented at CNN and BBC but it made progress and started its own international transmission through BTV World. Like various other state own television, this television also became the target of public hatred on his policies to please the government. Most of its programs were prepared for favoring the government. It broadcast its all programs in their national language which is Bengali. This television can be watched in various countries of the world through satellite like Middle East, Asia and partial area of Africa.
