Chris Gayle’s century beat England at World T20 2016

West Indies defeated England in a T20 world cup match due to fast century by Chris Gayle. The match was played in Wankhede Stadium of Mumbai during which England batted first and scored 182 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, West Indies defeated England due to aggressive innings by Chris Gayle. English bowler David Willey took the wicket of Johnson Charles on 2nd ball but Chris Gayle made partnership of 55 runs with Marlon Samuels for 2nd wicket and then of 46 runs with Ramdin for 3rd wicket. Samuels, Ramdin and Bravo got out after scoring 37, 12 and 02 runs respectively but Chris Gayle remained at the crease and scored a fast century on 47 balls with 11 sixes and 5 fours to succeed West Indies. David Willey, Reece Topley, Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali took one wicket each from England side.

Prior to that, West Indies won the toss and decided to field first. Jason Roy and Alex Hales gave England an aggressive 37 runs start. Roy lost his wicket for 15 at the hands of Andre Russell after which Joe Root came and made partnership of 55 runs for 2nd wicket. Alex Hales score 28 and Joe Root scored 48 runs. Jos Buttler scored 30 runs and captain Morgan remained not out at 27 runs. From West Indian side, Andre Russell and Darren Bravo took 2 wickets each and Sulieman Benn took 1 wicket.
