ICC sold 2015-23 broadcast rights

Broadcast Rights 2015 to 2023 Sold by ICC

The broadcasting rights for next eight years have been sold to Indian broadcasters by International Cricket Council. The council has not showed the money of this big broadcasting agreement but it is about the ICC events between 2015 and 2023.

These broadcasting rights are achieved by Star India and Star Middle East. During a meeting on Sunday, ICC Business Corporation (IBC) took that decision. During these eight years, ICC will organize 18 events including: two T20 World Cups of 2016 and 2020, two ODI World Cups of 2019 and 2023 and two Champions Trophy Events of 2017 and 2021.

In this agreement, ICC has awarded the combined audio and visual rights. For broadcasting agreement, the council received 17 bids. ICC has not mentioned the money involved in this agreement but they told that it is the bigger than the previous commercial agreements. Apart from that, this agreement doesn’t include the broadcast production rights of the host and it will be decided later.

In July 2014, the process of selling broadcasting rights started and tenders were released after that. The council held two bidding rounds.
