Kanpur: India beat New Zealand in the first test match, which was played at Kanpur. Indian side beat New Zealanders with the margin of 197 runs and showed his complete and comprehensive victory over the black caps by showing his spin and swing bowling to claim the series.
When India won the toss and elected to bat first, it scored 318 for all out and New Zealand started its innings. The stand of New Zealand was remarkable and century partnership was made in the stand of second wicket but the middle order was collapsed and all black cap team was out just for 262 runs and India got the lead of 56 runs. Then India started its second innings and it took the score to total 434 runs and New Zealand has to make this score to win the match.
Aishwin was the main bowler, who took 6 wickets just for 132 runs and he completed his 10 wickets match haul and he proved his selection. The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli said that there were some moments when they were bothering about the situation but their spinners took wickets and turned the match in their favor. This was the 500th match for India, who completed this figure in the test match history. When the match was started once again, the overnight batsman Luke Ronchi was remained not out at 80 runs and Mitchell Santner was not out at 71 runs. When the match was started, Kohli started the match with the spinners on both sides and it did not allow the black cap batsmen to play freely and kept them under pressure.
When these two batsmen were out then the remaining tail enders could not resist against the spin bowling of India and they were out and India won the match by 197 runs and completed their comprehensive victory.
Along with the spin bowler, Mohammad Shami has also shown the reverse swing and he took the wicket of BJ Watling. Before this, he took the wicket of Mark Craig by uprooting his middle stump. He was taken in the team with the replacement of Jeetan Patel. Santner completed his fifty but he also could not save his team from defeat and in this way, India managed its victory against the black cap.
