Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed former captain Inzamam ul Haq as chief selector and Mushtaq Ahmed as the head coach of national academy.
Chairman PCB Shahriyar Khan made that announcement during a press conference alongside Inzamam ul Haq. The chairman said during the occasion that he is happy Inzamam will now work with them and he will announce the new selection committee. Few famous coaches are ready to come to Pakistan but it is not necessary to be a local or foreign for head coach. The name of head coach will be announced soon while Mushtaq Ahmed will replace M Akram as the head coach of national academy. National Academy will work independently.
PCB chairman also told that boot camp coaching session will be held in Abbottabad after Pakistan Cup and this camp will remain continue for 3 weeks. They are also working to promote school cricket for betterment of cricket while the biomechanical lab has been reopened after 8 years of closure.
Former captain Inzamam ul Haq said that serving Pakistan is ideal for him. He came here for a national responsibility and he will try to justify his position. He is grateful for board that they have accepted his names for selection panel. Tauseef Ahmed, Wajahatullah Wasti and Wasim Haider will be selectors in his team. He said opinion of selectors and captains should be accepted and he will not leave his national responsibility.
