The captain of Pakistan cricket team, Misbah ul Haq has been suspended for one test match due to slow overrate in the Christ Church test match against New Zealand. He is also fined for 40% of the match fees. The match referee has also fined the whole Pakistani team for 20% of the match fees.
Misbah Ul Haq reached Pakistan direct from Christ Church to Karachi and then Lahore due to sudden death of his father in law he attended the funeral of the father in law. The ban of one test will be applied on the Hamilton test. However, if the match is not played due to rain, then this suspension will be applied on Brisbane test against Australia. The international cricket council announced the punishment against Misbah and Pakistan cricket team on Monday. Misbah left the tour uncompleted and he returned to Pakistan. In his absence, the captain of the national cricket team will be Azhar Ali. On the fourth day of the first test match, he received the bad news of the death of his father in law and his wife was also with him in New Zealand.
Misbah Suspends for One Test Match

Misbah Ul Haq led his team in the Christ Church test match, which was his 50th test match in which Pakistan team had to face the defeat by 8 wickets. This is the second time that Misbah was made the captain, but he will not play in any test match. Misbah came in the target of slow over rate second time in his test career. The second test match will be played against New Zealand on 25th November at Hamilton. In the Christ Church test match, Pakistan team lagged two overs behind the targeted 103 overs in the scheduled time. The spokesman of ICC said if PCB sends Misbah to Hamilton to play the test match, then due to his ban of one test match, he will not be able to play in this test match and he will not lay the second test match scheduled in Hamilton.
