The head coach said that Pakistan team played only seven international matches after the World Hockey League in Belgium and national team will play 30 to 35 international matches to restore their confidence. He hopes that Pakistan team will play well in this tournament and they will try to win all of the matches against all teams especially India.
Pakistan senior hockey team will lay the matches against Malaysia, India, China, Japan, and Korea and this event will be started from 20 October. Pakistan hockey team will play in the practice match against Japan on 18 October and the opening match of the tournament will be played between Pakistan and Malaysia. Pakistan will play the second match against Korea and the important match of the event will be played between Pakistan and India. The final of the event will be played on 30 October.
The morning session was continued from 08 to 10 and it was reserved for the physical training while in the evening session, the players attended the special drills to improve the games of the players from 04 to 06 pm. The players will also attend the training session in the Saturday morning then they will set off to Kuala Lumpur, from Quaid-e-Azam International Airport on Saturday night. The national team will be included with Imran Butt, Amjad Ali, Aleem Bilal, Muhammad Irfan (captain), Imad Shakeel Butt, Rashid Mahmood, Tasawwar Abbas, Fareed Ahmed, Nawaz Ashfaq, Muhammad Rizwan Junior, Touseeq Arshad, Muhammad Irfan Junior, Umar Bhutta, Arsalan Qadir, Ali Shah, Ijaz Ahmed, Muhammad Rizwan Senior, Abdul Haseem Khan. Hanif Khan will be the team manager, Khawaja Junaid will be head coach, Ahmed Alam will be Assistant Coach and Nadeem Khan Lodhi will be the video analyst.
The head coach of the national hockey team, Khawaja Junaid said that the national team played only seven international matches after World Hockey Leagues, which was scheduled in Belgium so he does not in position to say anything about the big result in the Champions Trophy. However, they will show their best effort to play well against all teams including India.
According to the details, Pakistan hockey team will play the Asian Champions Trophy, which is being played in Quantin, Malaysia from 20 October to 30 October. The players reached from Lahore to Karachi and they started their preparations in the National Hockey Stadium and the players attended the training session in the morning and evening times in the supervision of their head coach, Khawaja Junaid.
Lahore, The National hockey team is making preparation for the fourth Asian Hockey champions Trophy. The 18 member hockey team will fly to Malaysia on Saturday night and Muhammad Irfan will do the captaincy of the national hockey team. The special exercises are started in the Abdul Sattar Edhi Hockey Stadium Karachi and the training of the players will be continued till Saturday morning.
