Pakistan played the final of the Pakistan Super League in home ground, Lahore and it was seemed that the revival of the international cricket in Pakistan is imminent. Pakistan cricket board requested the cricket board of New Zealand to play the cricket series in Pakistan. New Zealand cricket board refused to play a series in Pakistan, which has delivered the huge blow to dreams of Pakistan.

According to local media, Pakistan was supposed to play the T20 series against New Zealand in the home ground and it would have been the first tour in 15 years to Pakistan. The chairman of New Zealand cricket board said that they will make the decision after receipt of the advisory and security reports. It would be very disappointing for Pakistan as they saw a tour by the country like New Zealand and they would start to build the international program back in Pakistan. It was not an easy decision as they want to maintain the good ties with Pakistan. It is hoped that Pakistan board can understand and accept the decision.

The Black Caps visited Pakistan in 2003 and they played a tour. The New Zealand players were willing to come to Pakistan. Pakistan Cricket Board were relying heavily on New Zealand to cooperate and it does not seem a big problem but it can create the ripple effect on the cricket in Pakistan as PCB has made great progress in the recent times.
