There’s still no final decision for the captaincy of national team in World Cup 2015. In the last ODI against Australia, the rest of Misbah and conditional support of Shaharyar Khan was very disturbing. Shahid Afridi has told the PCB administration that Misbah and he should know about the captaincy during world cup and he should be told earlier in case given the responsibility of captainship. On the other hand, Misbah said that Pakistan is first for him and he’ll remain in the side if he achieves confidence and score runs otherwise he’ll not become a burden on team.

PCB Chairman Shaharyar Khan said that the Misbah will decide about the captaincy of national ODI team and if he leaves the job, then the board has already prepared its strategy. On the question about leaving ODI captaincy, Misbah said he doesn’t have any such intension but he’s looking for next three or four test matches because runs are important. Misbah thinks that team needs experience during world cup and he’ll try his best to regain his form. He said he dismissed four times out of 8 due to run out.

He denied reports of differences in the teams and said his decision of not playing the 3rd match was individual. He said he personally requested team management and Afridi because he was out of form and it was harmful for the team.

On the other hand, Afridi said that he should be informed beforehand in case given the captaincy. He said captaining Pakistan is not a simple issue.

PCB Chairman said that Misbah will himself decide about captaining Pakistan but the board is also thinking about other options. Before that, PCB decided to keep Misbah captain of national team till world cup 2015.

Afridi said that whitewash defeat against Australia has damaged the chances of the team in world cup. He said that they can’t go to the next year world cup in Australia and New Zealand with this kind of performance.
