Edinburgh, Pakistani cricket team defeated the Scotland cricket team in the first T20 match by 48 runs. The T20 series between Pakistan v Scotland is comprised of two T20 matches and the first match was played at Edinburgh on 12 June, in which Pakistan beat Scottish team by 48 runs.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first and the opening players, Ahmed Shahzad and Fakhar Zaman started the Pakistani batting. Pakistan made the total of 204 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in allotted 20 overs. The Scottish team could manage to score only 156 runs in the 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. George Munsey and Kayl Coetzer started the opening of Scotland and they provided the opening stand of 53 runs. Kayl made 31 runs and Munsey made 25 runs. Muhammad Nawaz took the wicket of Kayl while Hasan Ali took the wicket of Munsey. Shadab  Khan got the two consecutive wickets of Richie Barrington and Colum MacLeod and they scored 3 and 12 runs respectively. The middle order batsman, Budge made 24 runs but he could not survive and Muhammad Amir took his wicket. Leask made 13 runs and he developed 43 runs partnership with Matthew Cross and he was bowled out by Hasan Ali.

When Pakistan started its batting, Fakhar Zaman and Ahmed Shahzad provided the opening partnership of 33 runs and Ahmed Shahzad could make 14 runs while Fakhar Zaman made 21 runs. Hussain Talat was out on 18 runs while Sarfaraz Ahmed played wonderful captain knock of 89 runs not out and he advanced the total of the team aggressively. Shoaib Malik also played very aggressively and they made the partnership of 96 runs for the sixth wicket. Shoaib Malik made 53 runs on 27 balls and 5 fours are included in his inning.
