Lahore, Most of the Pakistani cricketers were busy in playing the leagues and county cricket in other countries. Now all of the national players are called back in the country for their practice and fitness test for scheduling the national T20 cup.
After winning the ICC Champions trophy in UK, Pak players were free for few months and they started playing the Caribbean league in West Indies and the county cricket in UK after signing their agreements. Now the players will have to leave the matches of the county cricket and the Caribbean premier league. Sarfaraz Ahmed was playing for Yorkshire, Muhammad Amir for Essex, Junaid Khan for Lanka Shire and Shahid Afridi was playing for Hampshire.
Shoaib Malik was playing the Caribbean league along with some other players like Wahab Riaz for Barbados Tridents, Sohail Tanveer and Babar Azam for Guyana Amazone Warrior, Imad Waseem and Muhammad Sami for Jamaica Talawaz, Muhammad Hafeez and Hassan Ali for Saint Kits Patriots, Shadab Khan Trinidad and Tobago and Kamran Akmal is included in Saint Lucia Stars team.
PCB has called the national players for the fitness test and to play the national T20 tournament. Shoaib Malik, Muhammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz, Babar Azam, Imad Waseem, Hassan Ali, and Shadab Khan are asked to report to 20 August and the fitness tests will be started in the national cricket academy after one day. The national T20 tournament will be started from 25 August 2017.
The cricketers are worried as they have to leave the matches and they will come back to the country. They are making contact with the PCB official while sitting in West Indies but the board does not want to settle with one or two players and ignore other players.
There is question mark that the cricketers, who are already active in the international cricket, they are passed through the fitness test. When the agreements are signed with the county and league matches, then the players are not withheld to play the national cricket. The international matches will be started against Sri Lanka in the series in October.
