Pak-England Series Gets The Status Of Super Series

The matches between Pakistan and England will get the status of ‘Super Series’ and the overall winner on the basis of points will get special prize of 25,000 pounds.

According to details, England and Wales Cricket Board has given the status of ‘Super Series’ to the home matches played against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. According to this status, points will be given for every match and the team with more points at the end of the tour will be declared as collectively winner. The prize of 25,000 pounds has also been announced for the collective winner in order to create enthusiasm in ‘super series’.

The details of points system have already come forward in which the winner of test match will get 4 points while both the teams will get 2 points each in case of draw match. In the shorter formats, the winner will get 2 points while 1 point each will be given to both teams in case of a draw or tie match. Former captain and current director of English Board Andrew Straus said that cricket is evolving very quickly. In this situation, it is their responsibility to take steps in the progress of international cricket.

The central idea of ‘super series’ is to increase the importance of every match of international cricket. They are sure that super series will join different formats and make sure that every match is important. They feel that this new format will increase interest of players and fans in the game.
