Pakistani cricket team played the tour to England series and after that they felt that they need to make some changes in the bowling department. PCB has dropped Junaid Khan  and Faheem Ashraf, who could not impress with their performance. Inzamam ul Haq supported Wahab Riaz and Muhammad Amer due to their variety and experience on the English wickets, which are already batting wickets and the team needs experienced bowlers, who have already been played there. Both these bowlers have great potential to do reverse-swing the ball and they can bowl well in the death overs.

The chief selector said that it was the tough decision to drop Abid Ali and Junaid Khan but he and the team management had to make the changes keeping in view the requirements of the team. Pakistani 15 men world cup 2019 squad comprises of Sarfaraz Ahmed (Captain and wicket keeper), Fakhar Zaman, Imam ul Haq, Babar Azam, Muhammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Haris Sohail, Imad Waseem, Asif Ali, Shadab Khan, Hassan Ali, Muhammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Muhammad Husnain.
