In the first ODI match of ICC Women’s Championship, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 5 wickets. Just before 8 balls before the end of innings, Pakistan was able to achieve the target of 179. Main scorers from Pakistan remained Marina Iqbal with career-best 69 and Nida Dar with 37 not out. Sadia Yousaf and Sana Mir took 2 wickets each from Pakistan side.

Javeria Khan (30) was the first batswoman to dismiss for Pakistan at the total score of 68. The other three batswomen; Bisma (06), Nain Abidi (00) and Sana Mir (11); went cheaply. Pakistan was just 29 runs away from victory when Marina got out at her career-bear 69 runs inning. Pakistan achieved the target at 48.4 overs while Nida Dar (37) and Asmawiya Iqbal (12) were at the crease at that moment.

Raneveera was the most successful bowler from Sri Lanka who took 3 wickets while Sri Lankan score was 178 for 8 in the 1st innings. The main scorers from Sri Lanka were Chumari (49), Surangeeta (43) and Vera Codi (28) runs. 2 wickets each were taken by Pakistani bowlers Sadia Yousaf and Sana Mir.
