In the 2nd ODI match of 5 match series, Pakistan defeated Australia and leveled the series by 1-1 while acting captain M Hafeez was given ‘man of the match’ award.
The 2nd ODI match was played in Melbourne Cricket Ground during which Pakistan chased the target of 221 by Australia for the loss of 4 wickets. Sharjeel Khan and M Hafeez scored 68 runs for the 1st wicket partnership after which Sharjeel got out for 29. M Hafeez scored a fifty and lost his wicket after scoring 74 runs while Babar Azam scored 34 runs. Later, Shoaib Malik scored 42 not out runs and took Pakistan to victory.
Prior to that, Ausrtalia’s whole team got out for 220 runs. Australia’s captain Steven Smith remained top scorere with 60 runs and no other batsman could score more runs. The wickets of both the openers of Australia, Usman Khawaja (17) and Warner (16), were taken by Junaid Khan while M Marsh got out without scoring. At the score of 86, Hasan Ali got the wicket of Travis Head.
Maxwell was bowled by Imad Wasim at the score of 128 and the wicket of S Smith was taken by Imad at the score of 193. Mathew Wade scored 35 while Mitchell Starc got run out. The wickets of Cummins and Faulkner were taken by M Amir. Amir took 3 while Junaid and Imad took 2 wickets each from Pakistan.
