The pair of Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and Switzerlands’s Martina Hingis has won the Australian Open tennis women doubles’ title after defeating their opponent pair. The victorious pair defeated the pair of Czech Republic in Melbourne by 7-6 and 6-3.

After victory, Sania Mirza said that this year remained unforgettable for her and she wants to spend this year like this while playing with Martina is honor for her. Martina Hingis thanked Sania Mirza and said that such a huge successful was not possible without Sania.

The pair of Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis remained undefeated in last 36 matches which is the third biggest record of any pair in the history of WTA. Apart from that, the pair of Jana Novotna and Helena Sukova remained unbeaten for 44 consecutive matches while the record for winning most consecutive matches of 109 was made by Martina and Pam Shriver between 1983 and 1985.
