Shahid Afridi has been nominated in the top 20 most charitable athletes of 2015, reported by Shahid Afridi Foundation.
After achieving his name in cricket, Afridi added a new record in welfare works as he established his Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) in March 2014.
As well Afridi has been included in DoSomething.org’s list with world famous athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo, John Cena, Serena Williams, Yuna Kim, Neymar Jr, LeBron James, Maria Sharapova, Mo’ne Davis, Richard Sherman and others.
The foundation commenced by the Afridi’s aspires to improve the quality of life of common man by giving out free of cost education and basic healthcare. The foundation has as well been handing out poor with medical facilities without any cost in Kohat, covering as many as 14 villages.
In the top of the list is Real Madrid and Portugal ace footballer Cristiano Ronaldo for his work for many causes, including donating more than $83,000 to a 10-year-old fan in need of brain surgery and giving out more than $165,000 to fund a cancer center in Portugal that treated his mother.
