Shahid Afridi announces Leaving Peshawar Zalmi

Shahid Afridi has left the Peshawar Zalmi team along with stepping down from its presidency. Shahid Afridi announced through a tweet on social media site that he will not be able to play for Peshawar Zalmi team due to personal reasons and leaving the team as player and president while he also hinted in the same tweet that he will be seen somewhere else now.

Shahid Afridi expressed his good wishes for Peshawar Zalmi and said that he is hopeful that fans of Peshawar Zalmi will be with him wherever he goes.

On the other hand, the sources say that Shahid Afridi decided to leave the franchise due to differences with Peshawar Zalmi’s owner Javed Afridi. He was not happy with his increasing interference in the cricketing matters. He had made his mind to leave the team few months ago but declined later due to pressure from his seniors. At that time, two franchises were ready to make agreement with him. Even now, he is not shortage of options while the 6th team will be part of PSL next year.

Sources close to Shahid Afridi told that he was also unhappy due Shah Rukh’s invitation and few other news circling in media and then their backfire. He thought that such rumors were spread by team administration that was harming his reputation. He took this extreme step due to these and few other undesirable issues.
