Dubai, Shoaib Malik is the first Pakistani player, who is going to play 6th Champions Trophy. ICC has confirmed the squads, which are participating in the Champions Trophy. There are nine players, who participated in the Champions Trophy for six times. Shoaib Malik is the first Pakistani player, who is representing Pakistani cricket team in the Champions Trophy.
There are some other players, who played the champions trophy for six years, who are Ricky Ponting of Australia, Rahul Dravid of India, Daniel Vittori of New Zealand, Mark Boucher and Jack Kallis of South Africa and Mahella Jaywardene and Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka.
35 years old, Shoaib Malik played the champions trophy for the first time in 2002, which was played in Colombo, the champions trophy of 2004 and 2013 being played in England, 2006 in India and 2009 in South Africa. He played total 15 matches, which he scored 326 runs and got 10 wickets. He will play third match against Sri Lanka in the Champions Trophy and he will become 42nd player of the world, who played 250 one day international matches.
Shoaib Malik has shown his pleasure to become part of the Pakistani squad in for the Champions Trophy and he is included in the list of the players, who played Champions Trophy for the six times. He said that Champions trophy is important for Pakistan as it can help to improve the ranking of Pakistani in the one day international matches. Pakistan will also qualify to play the coming world cup 2019. He said that he would have to improve his form to show the good performance during the event. Pakistani team will have to show its performance against all international teams. Muhammad Hafeez will represent Pakistan for third time and Sarfaraz Ahmed will represent for the first time in the Champions Trophy event.
