In the IBSF World Team Snooker Championship, two Pakistani teams participated and both the teams reached to the final of the event. In the final of the world title, both Pakistani teams played the final of the IBSF World Snooker Championship and both teams won gold and silver medals for Pakistan. Muhammad Asif played the break of 129 in the Pre-quarter final and it was the biggest break of this tournament.

In the world championship, there were 48 cueists belonged to 29 different countries of the world. Two Pakistani players, Naseem Akhtar and Haris Tahir also participated in this big event.

Undefeated till pre-quarter finals

Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association, the champion reached to the semi finals yesterday after beating Florian Nuble from Austria in the quarterfinals by 4-1 with the score of 62-67, 74-7, 86-29, 74-8 and 72-21.

In the semi finals, he played the match against Amir Nardela of Israel. He won all of the frames against him by 4-0 and reached into the finals. These two brilliant players represented Pakistan in this great event and they played well during the entire event and Haris was also beat by his Pakistani player.

The event of Asian Six Red Snooker championship was conducted in Kirghizstan, which Pakistan snooker master showed the tremendous performance and he outclassed the opponent player completely and he won the championship by the big margin of 7-0. In the semi final, Muhammad Sajjad defeated Muhammad Bilal of Pakistan by the margin of 6-3.

This is the second big international title of Muhammad Sajjad as he won the world championship in 2013, which was conducted in 2013 in Ireland. Pakistan Snooker & Billiard Association president Alamgir Sheikh said about this matter that national team will fly over to Qatar on 9^th April where the team will take part in practice session with host players. Asian Championship will be played in Doha from 16^th to 23^rd April. The players included in the Pakistani team are national champion M Bilal, Sohail Shahzad, M Asif and M Sajjad.

According to details, Pakistan defeated Australia 3-2 in the Professional Snooker World Cup match which is in progress in China. The initial round of the tournament, the matches are played in the 5 frames of singles, reverse singles and doubles.

Pakistan lost the 1^st frame on Tuesday with 23-66 but won the second with 70-52. Australia won the 3^rd frame with 68-21 and took lead of 2-1 frame. In the doubles’ frame, Pakistani team defeated Australia 85-1 in a one-sided encounter.

In the semi final, played in Indian city of Bangalore, M Sajjad defeated Chinese player Zhao Xin Tong by 7-3 and now he’s one victory away to become a champion. Sajjad played superbly in the semi-final and never allowed his opponent to overcome. Before that, Sajjad beat Indian player Manan Chandra of India in the quarter final match in front of Indian crowd.

After his success, Sajjad said that he wants to win the title for his country.

They said on the airport that they got the success with the blessings of Allah and prayers of the countrymen. They also shared that they fought for the world class title in the final, which was very tough but they won the title by adopting good strategy and managed the final with great triumph.

The president of the Pakistan Snooker Federation, Alamgir Sheikh said that he and all their federation is pleased with the great success of their team. They were expected that any government official would come to the airport to welcome their players and paid tributes to them on their great triumph but no one came here to greet their players on the success of world class title. He also said that their previous funds for matches being played at Qatar, China and other countries are not still paid to them. He hoped that government will interfere and solve the problems. He also expected that government will take concrete steps to solve the problems of Pakistan Snooker Federation and played role for their resolution.
