London, England started making plan to get more income from the matches being played between Pakistan and India. The English Cricket Board started thinking to conduct the India Pakistan match in the Olympic Stadium, London for the mega event of world cup 2019. This stadium has the capacity of 60 thousands spectators. But this ground can have limited boundaries and it needs special permission of ICC and it will also face the opposition by the counties.
According to the details, England is going to host the Champions trophy next year in June and the match between Pakistan and India will be played in Edgbeston. The sale of the tickets of the match between Pakistan and India were started and it was finished within few hours. Keeping in view this situation, the English board is compelled to think about this situation and they are thinking to get booked the Olympic Stadium London for the World Cup 2019 as this stadium has 60,0000 capacity of the spectators. This stadium is under use of West Ham United and the time of the world cup matches will be off season for the football.
English board wants to conducts the mega competitions between Pakistan and India in London stadium. This stadium has the double capacity of any other stadium in UK. If the cricket matches are played here, then the rates of the tickets will be kept low in order to fill the stadium completely. The Chief Executive of Essex has already given the willingness to conduct few T20 matches in the London Stadium in 2018 from his county. But it will be considered that the playing area of this venue is enough for the international cricket. Secondly, they will have to make the drop in pitches here so that the football matches can be played in the football season.
It is true that London Stadium has very less playing area. However, New Zealand conducted the world cup matches of cricket in the Eden Park, which has small boundaries than the rules of ICC and this stadium was made for the Rugby. The ECB will have to persuade the counties to act upon this desire. All 48 matches of this mega event have been divided among all these venues before 2014 and if the new venue is added in the list of the host grounds, then it will reduce the competitions of other, which will not be acceptable by the counties.
