During the proceeding of tribunal in PSL spot fixing case, it come forward during testimony of British National Crime Agency’s manager Andrew that Umar Akmal and M Sami can also be included in the scandal. But a statement will be made after solid proofs.
Regarding this case, Umar Akmal said that he was thrown into this case but he is grateful to PCB that they cleared after investigation that he had no role in this matter.
He said while replying a question that he accepts his mistake of ignoring his fitness and he created problems for himself. He had good relations with coach, captain and players and he is himself responsible for his removal from central contract. He is happy on victory of Pakistan in Champions Trophy but he is also remorseful for not being part of the squad during Champions Trophy.
The batsman said that he arrived England for recovery from injury after telling NCA staff. He is trying hard to regain his fitness and he is completely focused on his return to international cricket. He wants to remove the weakness that affected his career in past and he will try to present performance which is pride for his country and parents.
