He was given the attack, when Sri Lanka started their batting and he took five wickets haul for just 20 runs. He devastated their batting line up and he became the first Pakistani bowler, who took 5 wickets on the minimum balls. He is the first Pakistani bowler after 2001, who took first 5 wickets and he bowled only 21 balls to send their half of the team to the pavilion, which is the third best bowling spell of the one day international cricket history.
The top of this record is Chaminda Vaas, who took five wickets for 16 balls, which he took against Bangladesh in 2003 World Cup. He also completed his hat trick as he took first three wickets on first three balls of the match.
