Vijender accepts Amir Khan’s fight challenge

Vijender & Amir Khan

Boxer Amir Khan has just expressed his wish to fight against the new professional Indian boxer Vijender Singh and the challenge was accepted by the rival boxer the other day. But his expected Pak-India boxing match could not be played before a year.

Senior boxer Amir Khan fights in middleweight category (72.5 kg) while the boxing category of Indian boxer is super middleweight (76 kg) which means that both the boxers have to come in a single category to fight.

Vijender said on Tuesday that he accepts the challenge of Amir Khan as this fight will advance boxing in India. But either Amir has to gain weight or he has to lose weight in order to come in the same category. He has just 4 fights in pro ring as his boxing career stated just 1 year ago and it will take him 1 more year to fight against the experienced Amir Khan.

As compared to Vijender, Pakistani-British Amir has 34 pro fights and it is necessary for the Indian boxer to get some experience before taking on such a big fight.

The Indian boxer added that this boxing match will provide him much popularity but currently he is preparing for his next fight against Matiouze Royer that will be held on 30th April at Copper Box Arena.
