West Indies vs England Test Match at Leeds 2017

Leeds, West Indies beat England by five wickets in the first test match of the tour to England series 2017. Both the teams were well balanced and they showed their performance and temperament during the match. England played first and they scored 258 runs all out in which the ton of Ben Stokes was also included. Joy Roots was the other successful player, who scored 59 runs in his inning. Kemar Roach and Gabrial claimed 4 wickets each. West Indies responded well with two tons of Braithwaite and Shaie Hopes, who scored 134 and 147 runs respectively. West Indies scored 427 runs in their first inning and took the lead of 169 runs.

In the second innings, England played well and they scored 490 runs and declared the inning on 490 for 8 wickets. England gave the target of 322 runs to West Indies to win this match. Six English batsmen scored fifties. Stoneman scored 52 runs, Root made 72 runs, Malan made 61 runs, Ben Stokes made 58 runs, Moin Ali made 84 and Chris Woakes made 61 runs and they made position of English team strong.

West Indies chased the target of 322 runs successfully as Shai Hopes made another century in the second inning. He scored 118 runs while Braithwaite made 95 runs and he could not complete his century and remained short of 5 runs from his second ton in the second test match. West Indies got the target on the loss of 5 wickets, which is great success on the English soil. Shai Hopes made 147 and 118 runs in both innings of this test match and he was declared the man of the match.
