In the 3^rd and the last match of the T20 series which was played at Gaddafi stadium Lahore Pakistan bet the Srilankan team and won the series. Pakistan made the target of 181 and in reply the Srilankan team could only score 144 in 20 over’s by losing 9 wickets. And on scoring the bombastic half century Shoaib Malik was given the title of man of the match.

From Srilankan side Danushka and dilshan came as openers and both of the openers couldn’t performed well, on the total of 10 dilshan got out and after some time the one down bats man Sadera Samaraokarama also got out on 15 runs.

Dosan shanaka and chaturanga D Silva played really well and helped in increasing the score of the team and then after scoring 54 runs Dosan Shanaka lost his wicket on Faheem ashraf bowling and after a short time chaturanga D Silva also lost his wicket on the total of 106 and scored 21 runs.

The captain Thisara Perera only scored 10 runs and got out by Hasan Ali, after the captain wicket parasana and pathreyana also couldn’t stand long on the wicket and on the total of 143 both the players got out so the middle order and the low order batsman couldn’t performed well and Srilankan team only scored 143 runs in 20 over’s by losing 9 wickets.

From Pakistani side Muhammad Amir took 4 wickets, Faheem ashraf 2 whereas Imad Waseem, Muhammad Hafeez and Hasan Ali took 1 wicket each.

Before that the Srilankan team won the toss and decided to field first whereas Fakhar Zaman and umar amin came as openers and gave the team a start of 57 runs Fakhar Zaman got out on 31 runs whereas on the total of 91 umar amin also got out and scored 45 runs.

On the other side the major general Muhammad asif Ghaffor while sharing his point of view on twitter said today the nation sacrifices won, thank you Srilanka. Pakistani players played really well, PCB and the security departments also performed well.

When Sri Lanka started their batting in the first innings of the match, Pakistani new and talented pacer, Usman Khan Shinwari bowled well and he took 5 wickets for 34 runs. His bowling spell proved so much devastating that Sri Lanka lost 5 wickets for just 20 runs and their leading and main batsmen could not perform well. Thirimanne was bowled out by Hassan Ali at the total score of 49 runs, who made only 19 runs. Prassana was run out by Shadab Khan on the total score of 63 runs. He made 16 runs and struggled to improve the position of his team. Thisara Parera struggled to play aggressively but he made only 25 runs and he was also bowled out by Shadab Khan. Vendersay made 2 runs and he was out on the ball of Shadab khan while the last player, Chameera was bowled out on the ball of Hassan Ali and he made 11 runs. The Sri Lankan inning came to end on 103 runs and in response, Pakistan won the match by 9 wickets as Pakistani batsmen got the total score of 104 runs in the 21^st over and only one player was out. Usman Shinwari was given the award of ‘Man of the Match’ while Hassan Ali was given the award of ‘Player of the Series’.

Lahore: the Pakistan cricket board has announced the 16 member squad for T20 matches against Srilanka.

In the  heading of inzamam ul haq the PCB selection committee has announced 3 brief format match series against Ireland in which the team members are the captain Sarfraz ahmed, Fakhar Zaman, ahmed Shehzad, Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik, Muhammad Hafeez, Imad Waseem, Shahdab khan, Muhammad Nawaz, Faheem ashraf, Hasan ali, Amir yamin, roman raees, usman shanwari and umar amin. The pacer Muhammad Amir will be included in the team after the fitness clearance. Sohail khan who became the part of the squad in the world eleven couldn’t maintain his position in the squad whereas the always resting Muhammad Hafeez has been back to the team.

Keep that in mind that the T20 matches between Pakistan and Srilanka will be started from October, 26, first 2 matches will be played on 26 and 27 in Abu Dhabi and the 3^rd and the last match will be played on October, 29 at Gaddafi stadium Lahore.

Tharanga and tail-ender vandersay delayed Pakistan from the victory and it was too late, that they just lost from 32 runs. All the Pakistani bowlers get into the act and got the all Srilanka’s players out on 187.

Toss and Pitch

Pakistan won the toss, Sarfraz and the other players decided to bat first on a slow pitch and make a respectable target for the guest team.

1^st Innings

In the first innings the same Pakistani team entered the ground with confidence, looking on their first performance in the first ODi. Sarfraz went with his plan first making a respectable target then by defending it with a versatile bowling attack.

The openers were unable to give the team a good opening and both Shehzad and Fakhar came back on the total of 27-2. The middle order got out by the tremendous bowling of the Srilanka’s bowler; Hafeez, Malik, sarfraz and Imad all of them got out on the total of 101-6 in 27.3 over’s.

Babar stayed in the ground despite his partners getting out on the other end and then he found a decent partner Shahdab who played with maturity and scored 52 runs. Babar’s love with the deserts of emirates begun and he made his 5^th consecutive century in UAE.

The collapse at 101-6 was going well however this pair of Babar Azam and Shahdab helps the total to reach some respectable point and offered something to bowl for their bowlers, with a record breaking 7^th wicket partnership of 109 against Srilanka, taking the total to 219-9.

2^nd Innings

Srilanka had to chase 220 at the rate of 4.38 runs per over, at the place where the average first inning total is 254.

Dickwella get out in the beginning, helping the Pakistani to put pressure on Srilanka. Hasan Ali was again in his top form bouncing out Kusal Mendis for yet another miserable score.

The Pakistan’s spinner trio of Hafeez, Malik and Shahdab got the Srilankan mid order batsman out with ease. Tharanga struggled from the start and kept going, because of the Miss Field by the fielders.

There was a time when Pakistan got 5 wickets for just 24 runs in 37 balls, around the 29^th over, Srilanka were left reeling at 97-7.

Hafeez ended his 10^th over by getting thisara Perera out on 24 runs. Then it looked like the Sri lanka will lost, but the captain and vandersay showed a beautiful game by going into the game deep.

The dew drops helped in chasing and the game was becoming more interesting. The pair added very useful 76 runs just before roman got vandersay out on a bouncer. Lakmal got run out when he was trying to take a 2^nd runs just when his partner got his hundred.

The last wicket was a run out by Roman raees and Pakistan won by 32 runs, going on the top in the series by 2-0. Tharanga went not out and Shahdab took 3 wickets for 47 runs.

Bonus Stats

Babar Azam the run machine once again topped the record book, becoming the fastest to make 7 ODi centuries in just 33 innings, breaking the record of Hashim Amla, who achieved this by doing in 44 innings.

His 1659 runs in 33 innings are just second to Amla’s 1715 in the same number of innings. The talented opener has scored 7 tons in September last year.

He now has an average of 5.20 second only to Ryan ten Doeschate 67.0 for players with over 1000 runs.
