English county team Leicestershire has announced his agreement with Pakistani opening batsman Sharjeel Khan for Natwest Blast 2017 season.
Sharjeel Khan is in England these days where the English county team has made agreement with him for next year after which Sharjeel Khan will play from Leicestershire. Before that, Pakistani players Shahid Afridi, Abdul Razzaq and Umar Akmal have also played for the same county team. Before Sharjeel Khan, Leicestershire made agreement with former Australian cricketer Clint McCay.
Chief Executive of Leicestershire, Wasim Khan, said that Sharjeel Khan is an aggressive player who will be used as a second opener for T20 matches and they know that other teams also wished to take services of players like Sharjeel Khan. But they are very happy to take their services for season of 2017.
On the other hand, Sharjeel Khan said that his aim was to play county cricket and he is grateful to Leicestershire for providing him such opportunity. Several Pakistani players have already represented this county and he is happy to follow their footsteps.
It should be remembered that Sharjeel Khan recently scored a hundred against Ireland in 62 balls in an ODI match while he scored 58 runs in 30 balls against England in an ODI match at Trent Bridge.
