The draft for national T20 cricket tournament will be held on 10th August after which 11 players for each team will be selected.
National T20 tournament will be held from 25th August to 10th September 2017 in Multan. Draft system will be used to select 11 players of 8 regional teams in the event while selection of one emerging player is necessary.
According to sources, PCB has directed heads of all the 8 regions to send names of 4 players including captains by 6th August while chief selector Inzamam ul Haq also has to be taken in confidence before selection of captains.
Later, the draft process will be held on 10th August in Gaddafi Stadium during which 11 players including captains of every region will be selected. A national selector, head of regional association and head coach will select players from available pool after consulting captain.
It should be remembered that PCB has decided to introduce draft system for regional teams of Quaid e Azam trophy after national ODI and T20 tournaments. There will only be 10 local players in each squad. Former cricketers are declaring it as unjust for local players.
