The next T20 world cup 2016 will be played in India next year and Shahid Afridi has made a plan for this world cup. The good all rounder are required by the Pakistani skipper while he got a good opening batsman Mukhtar Ahmed. He also told the selectors that it is the right time to make changes.
During an interview, Afridi said that changes in the team should not be made before four to five months of the world cup. Before the end of his career, it was very pleasing that he played international cricket in Pakistan. As compared to the absence of international cricket, the issue of domestic cricket is much worrying for him. If international teams are not coming then it is not an excuse. In 2016, the T20 world cup will be played in India during March and April. Like 2009 T20 world cup, Shahid Afridi is also confident to win the 2016 T20 world cup this time. For this mega event, he is searching two good all rounder and hard hitters.
Recently during the Zimbabwe tour of Pakistan, the first after six years by any international team, Shahid Afridi captained the Pakistani T20 team. He said he got a chance to play in front of the home crowd due to which it was a very big occasion for him. He said the world has seen the fondness of crowd for international cricket and he really enjoyed the series. More teams will also visit Pakistan hopefully.
He told while replying a question that instead of the chances of qualification of Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, the main issue is the domestic level cricket. It is wrong to make an excuse the absence of international cricket as South Africa is an example which produced great cricketers after the restart of international cricket due to their strong domestic level cricket. On the domestic level cricket, professionalism and international level facilities should be provided.
