Lords, England Women Cricket Team beat Indian Women Cricket Team in the final of the Women World Cup 2017 and they became the world champion. England women cricket team defeated India in an interesting cricket match by 9 runs, being played in Lords, England and it became world champions for the fourth time. The final of the mega event was played at Lords on 23 July 2017 and England played first and they set the target of 228 runs in 50 overs.
When the Indian cricket team started chasing of the target of 229 runs, the whole team was out on 219 runs in the 49th over and they lost the match. Anya Shrubsole of England clinched six wickets for 46 runs and she played main role in the victory of England in the final match of the women world cup 2017.
Poonam Ruat and Harmanpreet played and they scored 86 and 51 runs respectively but they could not save their teams to defeat. Veeda Krishna Murthy made 35 runs and captain, Mithali Raj made 17 runs. In the initial stage, it was seemed that India would win this match easily but last 7 wickets of Indian layers were fallen just for 28 runs.
England team played first and they scored 228 runs in 50 overs, for the loss of 7 wickets. Nathali Squiver made 51 runs, Sarah Taylor 45 and Katherine Brunt made 34 runs. Indian bowler, Jhulan Goswami took three wickets, while Poonam Yadav took two wickets. Anya was declared the man of the match for getting 6 wickets and leveled the way for the victory of England in the final of the ICC Women cricket world cup 2017.
