ICC has issued the new ranking of the batsmen in which Joy Root is demoted to two points and Australian captain, Steve Smith reached the top position of the batsmen. The captain of South Africa team, Ab DeVilliars reached the second position. Younis Khan and Asad Shafiq also lost their position with one point and now they are at the 6th and 12th position respectively in the ranking of the batsmen.
Muhammad Hafeez played the important role in the victory of Pakistan and he reached at his career best ranking of 24. Before the start of the series, he was present at 33 position. Shoaib Malik played his last test match of his career and he could not show the brilliant performance & he has to face the demotion with 15 steps. On the other side, he was promoted to 57 steps in bowling and reached to the 44 position. Captain of Pak cricket team, Misbah Ul haq contained his 10th position in the test ranking but he took his team to the second position in the test playing nations.
In the bowling, South African Dale Steyn is at the top and James Andersen is on the second position with Yasir Shah. Andersen took 6 wickets and got 22 points. Yasir Shah took 7 wickets in the Sharjah test and he got 19 points. Both the players got 846 points.
