Cricket Australia was going to tour of Bangladesh, which was also decided. But due to some security concerns, Cricket Australia postponed the tour of Bangladesh. James Sutherland, who is the chief executive officer of Cricket Australia made an announcement on Thursday evening. He said that the government of Australia has given him the warning on the increasing threat and security concern to the national team of Australia in Bangladesh and he had no option to continue to this cricket tour of Bangladesh.
He further added that it was difficult decision, which he made as he was given warnings on this tour. Various Australian government agencies and the security advisors gave them information on the security situation in Bangladesh and the pressure was so intense that Cricket Australia has to make this tough decision as no alternative left behind to continue this tour.
The government departments in Australia obtained the information about the risks to the lives of the Australian people to travel to Bangladesh. The security concerns are minimized but the security agencies and security advisors were not in favor of this tour & they advised the government to put pressure on Cricket Australia to postpone their tour.
