Australian Cricket Team Doctor, Peter Brukner confirmed that Phil Hughes did not come out of the unconsciousness and died in the hospital in Sydney. Phil Hughes, who was 25 years old, he was playing a domestic cricket match in Shefield Shield trophy. While he was playing the match, he received a bouncer of the opposite team fast bowler, Sean Abbott, then he received the head injury on the back of his skull. The bouncer was hit suddenly while he was going to play this short pitched delivery on his head missing the helmet. He underwent 90 minutes long operation to decrease the pressure on the brain.
Phil Hughes fell on the pitch and he felt unconscious, then first aid was given to him. After some time, he was taken to the hospital, where his head surgery was also carried out. But he was induced in coma. The team doctor said that he was also taken on the ventilators to give oxygen, but he never regained his consciousness. Dr Brukner said that after hitting the ball, he was moved out of the ground through stretcher at the Sydney Cricket Ground. He was also given the mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. He confirmed the news of the sad demise of Philip Hughes and said that doctor tried their best but he did not come to the consciousness. In the hospital, his family and close friends were present there.
Cricket Australia mourns the sad demise of the test cricketer, who played over 20 test matches and he also played the last ODI series against Pakistan in UAE cricket grounds. Cricket Australia respects for the privacy of the family, players and staff of Hughes, who was the rising star of international cricket in Australia.
