ICC Increases Prize Money for Champions Trophy

ICC has increased the total prize money of Champions’ Trophy Cricket Tournament, scheduled in UK next month, by $500,000.

The winner of 8th ICC Champions’ Trophy, to be played in England and Wales, will get $22,00, 000 as prize while the runner up team will achieve $1100, 000 prize money. The collective prize money of this tournament has been increased up to $45, 00,000.

The prize money for 2013 edition was $40, 00,000. The semi finalist teams will get $450,000. ICC has decided to give $90,000 to the team came 3rd in its group while the team on last position will get $60,000.

First match of the event will be played between host team England and Bangladesh on 1st June 2017 in Oval. Pakistan will play its first match on 4th June against India in Edgbaston (Birmingham). Final match of the tournament will be played on 18th June 2017 in Oval.
