KPK has won the title of Pakistan Cup 2016 after defeating Punjab by 151 in the final match. In the final match, played at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad, KPK scored 311 runs for 9 wickets in their allotted 50 overs after which Punjab lost all its wickets in 36.1 overs for the score of 160.
Fakhar Zaman of KPK remained ‘man of the match’ scoring 115 runs (111 balls) with 12 fours and 3 sixes. Other main scorers of KPK team are Ahmed Shahzad (62), Younis Khan (49) and Faheem Ashraf (31). From Punjab, Ammad Butt took 3 wickets, Ahsaan Adil took 2 while Amir Yameen, Kashif Bhatti and Shoaib Malik took 1 wicket each.
In chase of the score, Punjab team suffered from beginning as opener Salman Butt lost his wicket at 5 without scoring. Main scorers of Punjab remained Shan Massod (36), Shoaib Malik (26), M Rizwan (22) and Asad Shafiq (16). Yasir Shah and Zohaib Khan took 3 wickets each from KPK while Zia-ulHaq took 2 wickets. M Asghar and Faheem Ashraf took 1 wicket each.
