Pakistani team becomes first Asian team to hit 1000 sixes in test

In test matches, Pakistani team has become the first Asian team ever to hit 1000 sixes. This honor was achieved by Pakistani team against Bangladesh during Mirpur test match. Pakistan and India were equal in this aspect with 995 sixes each before the start of the match but now the number of sixes reached at 1005 for Pakistan. At the moment, the teams of Australia (1463), West Indies (1429), England (1409) and New Zealand (1060) are at the top in this list. Pakistani captain Misbah up Haq also completed 50 sixes in this match.

Along with that, Pakistani team also gave the target of over 500 for the third time in test matches. Prior to that, Pakistan won the matches with 341 and 356 runs margin when they gave the target to India in 2006 and Australia in 2014 respectively. Also, Pakistan is the only team which lost a match after taking 300 or more runs lead in the first innings. It was in 2006 against England when Pakistani then captain Inzamam ul Haq refused to take the team to ground after allegations of ball tempering and the match was awarded to the English side.

In Mirpur test, Tamim Iqbal became the second only Bangladeshi batsman to reach the score of 3000 test runs after Habibup Bashar with 3026 runs.

Tamim Iqbal now only requires 17 runs to pass the score of Habibul Bashar and he is batting on 32 in the test. Apart from that, Shakib al Hasan also became the only Bangladeshi batsman to score 1000 test runs in a venue. He remained not out on 89 against Pakistan in Sher e Bangla National Stadium Mirpur.
