Colombo, The chairman of Sri Lankan cricket board said that Sri Lankan cricket team will tour to Pakistan to play the T20i series. This will be the first tour of Sri Lanka after the deadly attacked against their team in Lahore in 2009 and now after eight years, the Sri Lankan cricket team will tour to Pakistan to play the series of the short format. The team has been cleared to play the three T20i matches in which one T20i match will be played in Lahore. He further added that any tour would require government approval before the team is sent to other countries to play the series.
The chairman said that they had their security experts and they made the assessment and things look positive and there is lot of improvements all over the country and Lahore is also cleared. In the coming T20i series, they will have to play the three T20 games against Pakistan in September and they would like to play at least one game in Lahore. Zimbabwe toured Pakistan for the limited over matches series in 2015 and all of the tree matches were played in Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. It is also expected that the ICC World XI will be played in Pakistan this September.
