Pakistani leading test cricketer and leg spin bowler, Yasir Shah has been banned for three months after his admission to use the medicines and indulge in doping offence. The banned substance, Chlorthalidone is found in the blood and his blood test was found positive. His blood test was taken during the month of November.

International Cricket Council said that the leg spinner has admitted that he took the medicine of his wife mistakenly and he stressed over the zero tolerance approach for the doping test.

The ban on the player is started from 27 December and it will continue till 27 March because the ban imposed on him, is only for three months. During this period, he will be provisionally suspended from the international cricket. He said that he assured his fans in Pakistan that he did not use any substance, which can enhance his performance during the match and he never had his intention to use such substance.

He further added that he took the medication of high blood pressure and they are stored separately in his home away from the medication of his wife and he will take extra precautions and he accepted his offence that he took these medicines and he accepted the consequences, which are imposed on him.

Now Yasir Shah will be away from the Asia Cup and ICC World Twenty20. When his ban will be finished then he will go with the Pakistan national cricket team on the tour to England this summer.

The general manager of ICC, Geoff Allardice said that he reminded all international cricketers that they were responsible for  anything they eat, drink or put it in their bodies and they did not result in the anti doping rule violation.

He started his test career in 2011 and he played 12 test matches and 15 ODIs and he showed his performance on many times. He took 12 wickets when Pakistan beat Australia in the test series by 2-0 and he also performed well and lead in the test series by 2-1 and win the series against Sri Lanka in 2015.
