In Singapore, Pakistan achieved 2 silver medals and 11 bronze medals during the Commonwealth Senior Wrestling Championship 2016.
Pakistan’s top wrestler Inam settled for silver medal on the last day of championship in 86 kg freestyle final where he was defeated by Deepak of India. Also in the 57 kg freestyle final match, M Bilal got silver medal after losing to his Indian opponent.
In total, there were total 8 Pakistani wrestlers in the championship who won total 13 medals in Greco-Roman and freestyle events.
After the match, Inam told that it was a great experience for them before the Commonwealth Games of 2018 in India. He added that his fight was a close one and it’s important to them to take part in this event.
