Federation of International Cricketers Association (FICA) has advised the foreigner players not to play final of PSL in Lahore due to security reasons.
It is said in the report that security problems are still present in Pakistan while there is no guarantee of players’ security despite strict security measures. It is told in the report that terrorist activities are still prevailing in Pakistan and foreigners were targeted directly in the past. Players should also consider their insurance policy as their policy can end in case they tour Pakistan.
Though, FICA has no authority to prevent a player from playing in a country but its reports are sent to players, their agents and players’ associations. It is possible that domestic teams and cricket boards of different countries may not issue NOC to their players to play cricket in Pakistan.
It should be remembered that the 2nd edition of PSL is starting from 9th February in UAE while final match will be played in Lahore on 7th March 2017. Chairman PCB Executive Committee Najam Sethi has already said that the final match will be played in Pakistan for which the government is also supporting the board.
