Salim Saifullah, president of Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), told media that two ITF (International Tennis Federation) Futures circuit events is planned to be held at the end of this year by PTF. It is expected that these events will be held in November and December 2017.

Combined prize money of $30,000 will be given in these two events. ITF will also help organize this tournament by sending $5,000 each for both these events and the rest will be managed by the PTF.

ITF manager Frank Courand has duty to manage training centers and events at the Federation while his recent 5 day visit to Pakistan to discuss hope of tennis in the country could be the reason behind this development.

Salim also said that he may also invite ITP president to come here and watch the final of Davis Cup between Pakistan and Thailand in Pakistan Sports Complex. The time of this final match is mid September.

Salim added that the 12 year dry spell in Pakistan was ended in February 2017 with a match between Pakistan and Iran. Through the successful event, it was seen that tennis is much liked and followed in Pakistan.

Before that, the same event in Pakistan was boycotted by Hong Kong but it didn’t cause much harm to Pakistan. Pakistan is now ready to show that it can organize international sporting events without any security problems.
